The storyline takes place in a world once ruled under the spirit of the Earth, Chava, after all spirits abandoned the physical world upon the birth of the Spirit World. The few spirits who remained in the physical world were the twins, Magena the moon spirit and Donoma the sun spirit. Magena and Donoma kept balance of day and night, their hot and cold energies infused with water and fire, gifts they granted to humans to help maintain peace and balance in nature. Those who had power over the elements were called givers, giving life to water and fire and controlling them at their whim.
Everything changed when a second water element was born, some water givers possessing power over ice, throwing off balance as humanity went to war. The ice givers found water the superior element and wished to extinguish fire and claim the world for Magena, but water refused to side with them, thus beginning the war that's raged for the last 200 years.
To restore peace and balance, Chava the Earth spirit created the Balancer , the only human with the ability to obtain all three elemental gifts and connect with the spirits and the Earth to reach a higher power to end the war. He infused the energy of the sun and moon with the energy from the Balancer's 7 chakras, forming them into orbs placed around the world at the 4 spirit gates to keep balance of the sun, moon, and the human spirit. The humans of the Ice Realm stole the sacred orbs from the spirit gates, concealing the sun orbs in cold darkness and weakening the sun spirit while freezing the moon orbs, putting the moon spirit's power under the Ice Realm's control. Seeing the Balancer wasn't enough, Chava created the Spirit Guide, a soul match for the Balancer meant to provide spiritual enlightenment and master the elements along with them to restore order.
Before Chava could intervene further, the Ice Realm imprisoned the orb infused with the Earth spirit and cast it to the frozen emptiness of the Dark Spirit World, causing him to vanish. For 200 years now, the war has raged on, every Balancer and Spirit Guide born trying and failing to locate and return the sacred orbs and restore Chava. The last Balancer and Spirit Guide had discovered the whereabouts of the 7 orbs, but before they could be located, they were executed by the Ice King himself.
In fear of the next Balancer retrieving the orbs and defeating them, the Ice Realm knew they would be reincarnated into the Fire Realm as they follow the cycle of the elements, thus beginning the search for a fire baby born with the mark of the Balancer's eye, leading to the start of the freeze over of the Fire Realm. Now 14 years have passed since the birth of the next Balancer, but no one knows who or where they are. With the war coming to a close, many fear the next Balancer and Spirit Guide will never be revealed to save the world from the frozen takeover, but they're out there somewhere, and they're awakening.
