Hello everybody! Here's a little overview of the Part 1 series of this world! Part 1 consists of the first book, Balance, followed by Water, Ice, then Fire. The story follows Nilo and Daleesi, the next revealed Balancer and Spirit Guide meant to restore balance and end the 200 Year War.
Nilo is a 14 year old fire giver raised in the Fire Realm by his uncle, the head fire sage of East Tol-le-loo. Upon his birth on the day of Balancer Delsin's death, he was discovered by his parents to have the mark of the Balancer's eye, putting him in danger with the Ice Realm searching for the next Balancer. His parents begged his Uncle Maska to take Nilo and hide him at the temple of East Tol-le-loo and to protect him so the world would never know who he truly was to spare his life. After 14 years, Nilo removes the gloves his uncle made him wear all his life, revealing his mark and the fact that he's the next Balancer. For fear of the Ice Realm destroying his village to get to him, Nilo runs away, only the start to his journey to save the world.
Daleesi is a fierce and free spirited water giver from the water village of Gitaskog. As a woman of Gitaskog, Daleesi is a stifled water giver, tradition only allowing women to use their giving abilities for medicine and healing and not for battle. As the eldest daughter of the chief, it is expected that Daleesi fit her role as the perfect healer and Gitaskog woman, but since the capture of her mother when she'd been 8, she's dreamt of becoming a warrior. After 10 years fighting at war, Daleesi's father returns home in celebration of her 18th birthday where she is meant to step into womanhood, arranged to be married to the prince of the great Water Realm city of Sint-Holo to serve her tribe. Daleesi doesn't want to be a wife, mother, and healer though, she wants to become a master water giver and she wants to fight alongside her father to bring her mother home. Feeling trapped in a role she knows she'll never fit, everything changes when the water sages reveal her as the next Spirit Guide meant to serve the Balancer and end the war.
